Prophix One is a cloud planning, consolidation and close platform for mid-market finance teams running many entities, sold by quote, owned by Hg, and reachable from Claude through a read-only MCP server on FP&A Plus instances.
Independently scored, one dimension at a time. Every dimension is sourced, and we say whether a claim is published, reported, or estimated.
Prophix's security page (checked 30 September 2026) lists SOC 2 Type II, ISAE 3402 Type 2, ISO 27001, 27017 and 27018 and HITRUST, plus TrustArc Responsible AI certification. FP&A Plus docs show member-level read and write rights, a Security Audit Report export and approver roles in workflow. Model Manager revisions are deleted after each publish, and Prophix names no customer-selectable hosting regions on the pages checked.
Prophix says many customers go live in as little as 8 weeks (platform FAQ) and 8 to 16 weeks on its OneStream comparison page, using a five-phase plan run by Prophix services or partners. The Architect Agent maps GL data into a model, which Prophix says takes hours (vendor-claimed). Admins manage connections in a no-code tool without IT tickets.
Prophix One supports driver-based budgets, rolling forecasts and scenarios across entities (platform page), employee-level Detailed Planning for personnel and capex, consolidation, cash management and lease accounting. The Analyzer Excel add-in reads and writes back model data. No three-statement template is documented on the pages checked.
Prophix lists phone support Monday to Friday, 7am to 8pm in North America, an online support portal, and Prophix Academy training (professional services page, checked 30 September 2026). Capterra rates Prophix One 4.6 of 5 across 127 reviews, with customer service at 4.6 of 5 from 122 ratings (read 30 September 2026). There is no published 24/7 phone line or paid premium support tier.
A first-party hosted MCP server shipped in FP&A Plus release 2026.9.2 with 28 documented tools, all read only, per the MCP help article. In-product agents (Budgeting, Reporting, Reconciliation, Architect, Consolidation, Planning) are included in the subscription, and the Planning Agent can save data to a model with human checkpoints. Outcome claims such as model builds in hours are vendor-claimed.
FP&A Plus docs say a model can have an unlimited number of dimensions, and Prophix cites Eiffage consolidating 550+ entities with 240 users (vendor case, platform page). Contracts cap the number of models of each type, per the financial modeling doc. Some Capterra reviewers mention slowdowns on large data sets (read 30 September 2026).
Data Integration docs describe source agents for NetSuite (SuiteTalk), Sage Intacct, Acumatica GL and Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations, plus ODBC, SQL Server, Excel and SFTP. Marketing pages claim 120+ ERPs on one page and 300+ systems on another, and list QuickBooks, Xero, Workday and Salesforce without a documented agent. No write-back to an ERP is documented.
The pricing page is a buyer guide with no prices. Docs reveal the units, four license levels and model entitlements, and the launch page says AI features carry no extra charge. Public benchmarks conflict: Vendr shows a $205,526 average on 5 deals while CFO Shortlist reports about $65,000 typical (both reported, read 30 September 2026).
Written by the Audit Friendly research team. No vendor edits, no sponsored placement.
You are buying one platform that covers budgeting, forecasting, consolidation, account reconciliation, cash management and lease accounting, hosted on AWS and run by finance admins. Prophix says it serves 3,000+ customers in 100+ countries, and its AI agents, Copilot for Teams and Office, and the MCP server are included in the existing subscription per its Fall 2026 launch page (checked 30 September 2026). The fit is a finance team with several entities that wants plan, close and reporting on the same numbers without an enterprise CPM project.
The catch is that Prophix runs two planning engines. The newest work, including the MCP server and the Planning Agent, ships on FP&A Plus only, so a customer on the older Financial Planning & Analysis product does not get it. The MCP server is read only and cannot see cell comments, drill-down or transaction detail. Prices are quote only, and public benchmarks range from about $53,000 a year to a $205,526 Vendr average on 5 deals. Phone support runs weekdays, 7am to 8pm, and the same owner, Hg, has also controlled OneStream since 1 April 2026.
Before signing, get in writing which engine you are licensed on, the count of each license level (Reporting, Standard, Advanced, Administrative) and model entitlements, a cap on renewal increases, and that agents and MCP stay included at renewal. Ask for a named connector for each source system, a fixed implementation fee against a written scope, and how models, dimensions and history are exported if you leave.
Jobs, mapped to how finance teams actually buy.
Prophix One handles intercompany eliminations, currency translation and minority interest in the same platform that holds the budget. Prophix cites Eiffage running 550+ entities, 117 subgroups and 240 users. Consolidated actuals feed plan versus actual reporting without an export.
Detailed Planning models hold each employee, asset or project with conditional calculations, such as state-by-state SUTA tax, and roll results into the financial model. Department managers can plan their own headcount without access to the rest of the model.
The Planning Agent chains steps such as adding a version, updating filters, running processes and saving model data, with review pauses between them. Prophix ships Monthly Maintenance and Rolling Quarter Forecasting templates, and skills can run on a schedule (FP&A Plus only).
With the Prophix connector, Claude can pull consolidated revenue, margin and OpEx versus budget and draft commentary or slides. A Prophix customer CFO says board deck work dropped from hours to minutes, which is vendor-claimed. Numbers come from Prophix calculations under the user's permissions.
Cash Management bank integrations run through Plaid, refresh balances up to four times a day, and classify transactions against trading partners. Prophix sets no limit on the number of accounts. Coverage outside North America is not stated.

Here's what it really costs: published rates where a vendor lists them, aggregated quote data where they don't, plus a path to your own number.
Annual subscription priced by license level (Reporting, Standard, Advanced, Administrative), modules and model entitlements, per Prophix docs.
Prophix says these, plus Cash Management bank integrations, are paid for as part of the existing subscription.
Delivered by Prophix professional services or partners; CFO Shortlist reports $5,000 to $50,000 or more (reported).
Prophix sells FP&A Plus, launched 14 January 2025, alongside its older Financial Planning & Analysis product. The MCP Connections doc and the Planning Agent doc both say they support FP&A Plus only for now (checked 30 September 2026). A customer on the older engine needs a migration to get them. Ask which engine your quote covers and what a later move would cost.
The Prophix MCP help article says the server is read only and cannot return cell comments, row notes, drill-down or drill-across data, with no release date for those. All 28 tools are visible to every customer; data access follows Prophix permissions. Results go to your LLM vendor under its data terms, which Prophix tells IT teams to review first.
Vendr's figure rests on 5 deals and spans $50,000 to about $500,000, and CFO Shortlist does not show its sample (both read 30 September 2026). Prophix publishes no list price. Get a line-item quote by license level, module and model type, and price any module on your two-year roadmap at signature.
Prophix's Security Manager doc says a user consumes the highest license level among the functions on their roles, and a warning appears when changes exceed the license limit. Adding an Advanced function, such as full Ad Hoc Analysis, to a broad role can push many Standard users into Advanced. Define roles before signing and agree how reclassification is billed.
The Analyzer doc (checked 30 September 2026) says it is opt-in, needs Microsoft 365 on the Monthly or Semi-Annual Enterprise channel with Edge WebView2, and excludes Office 2016 and 2019 perpetual editions. The manifest file comes from Prophix Support and is edited by your admin. Excel-first teams should test it on their own machines during the trial.
Prophix's integrations page says 120+ ERPs and its platform page says 300+ ERPs, HRISs and CRMs (both checked 30 September 2026). The Data Integration docs describe source agents for NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Acumatica and Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations, with ODBC, SQL and file imports for others. Ask which method covers each of your systems and who maintains it.
Scored on what an outside agent can actually reach: the documented API, how it authenticates, and whether the vendor ships an MCP server.
Exists: yes. The Prophix MCP server is listed as new in the FP&A Plus 2026.9.2 release notes (September 2026) and has its own help article with setup steps for Claude, ChatGPT and Microsoft Copilot. Prophix announced it on 15 September 2026, its launch page says it is available at the end of September 2026, and Prophix says it is included in the existing subscription. The help article still describes general availability as a future step, so confirm in writing that it is generally available on your instance. It is not listed in the public MCP registry (checked 30 September 2026).
Scope: read only, FP&A Plus only. The help article lists 28 tools: model and dimension discovery, cell and report values, period comparisons, detailed planning records for headcount, and math functions that Prophix runs server side. It cannot write data, read cell comments or row notes, or return drill-down and drill-across transaction data. Classic Financial Planning & Analysis, Financial Consolidation and other Prophix apps are not covered yet, and the launch FAQ says only the Reporting Agent is exposed through MCP as of September 2026.
Turnkey: admin-configured. A Portal Administrator copies a per-instance endpoint URL and the public OAuth client ID (OAuth 2.1 with PKCE) from Account Management, a Claude organization admin adds it as a custom connector, and each user then signs in with Prophix credentials. Microsoft Copilot needs a private client secret and an extra Teams Developer Portal registration. Existing Prophix permissions apply to every query.
In-product AI, as Prophix describes it: Copilot chat, a Reporting Agent that builds tables and variance commentary, a Budgeting Agent, a Reconciliation Agent, an Architect Agent that maps source data into a model, and a Planning Agent that runs scheduled budget and reforecast skills, including saving data to a model, with review checkpoints. Time-saving figures quoted by Prophix customers are vendor-claimed. Agents can be switched off at account level.
Who wins for whom: Teams that want employee-level Detailed Planning and a Rolling Quarter Forecasting agent template on FP&A Plus: Prophix. Teams that want template and free-form planning engines with Workforce Pro: Planful. Excel-first teams that want driver plans with US, Canadian and UK payroll tax logic: Vena.
Driver budgets, employee-level detail. Prophix One supports driver-based budgets, rolling forecasts and scenarios across entities, plans each employee, asset or project in Detailed Planning, and its Planning Agent ships a Rolling Quarter Forecasting template on FP&A Plus.
Where it loses: No three-statement template is documented, the Analyzer Excel add-in supports neither Office for Mac nor Excel Online, and the Planning Agent runs on FP&A Plus only.

Two engines for budgets and scenarios. Planful pairs template and driver-based budgeting in Structured Planning with free-form multidimensional models in Dynamic Planning, adding rolling forecasts, scenarios, Workforce Pro headcount planning, cash flow forecasting and a Microsoft 365 add-in.
Where it loses: The two engines mean two modeling styles and two API families to learn, and CFO Shortlist reports input templates slow down beyond about 400 lines.

Excel front end, OLAP cube behind. Vena keeps the full Excel front end over a relational and in-memory OLAP database, with driver-based plans, what-if scenarios and employee-level workforce planning that carries US, Canadian and UK payroll tax logic.
Where it loses: Three-statement links depend on how each template is built, Vena publishes no model size or dimension limits, and a Capterra reviewer reports slowdowns when many users work in large reports.

Who wins for whom: Acumatica or Dynamics 365 F&O shops that want a documented source agent: Prophix. Teams on NetSuite, Oracle or QuickBooks that want a pre-built connector: Planful. Business Central shops that want direct API refresh with drill-through: Vena.
Source agents for four ERPs. Prophix's Data Integration docs describe source agents for NetSuite over SuiteTalk, Sage Intacct, Acumatica GL and Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations, with ODBC, SQL Server, Excel and SFTP imports for other systems.
Where it loses: Marketing pages claim 120+ ERPs on one page and 300+ systems on another, yet QuickBooks, Xero, Workday and Salesforce have no documented agent and no ERP write-back is documented.
Source: AF score rationale: ERP & data connectivity 70; Prophix watch-outs.

Pre-built connectors across mid-market ERPs. Planful lists pre-built connectors for SAP S/4HANA and ECC, NetSuite, Oracle, Dynamics 365, QuickBooks, Acumatica and Sage Intacct, and its NetSuite connector pulls GL and transaction data on a schedule through SuiteAnalytics Connect and SuiteQL.
Where it loses: Xero is not listed, CFO Shortlist reports SAP integration is limited and needs a third-party iPaaS or custom API work, and a single data transfer over 40 MB returns an error.
Source: AF score rationale: ERP & data connectivity 76; Planful use cases and watch-outs.

Direct Business Central and Fabric connectors. Vena documents a direct Business Central connector on API v2.0 with one-click refresh and drill-through, has six generally available Microsoft Fabric connectors including Dynamics 365 F&O, and lists NetSuite, Sage Intacct, QuickBooks, Xero and SAP.
Where it loses: The integrations page does not say which sources use Vena-built connectors versus Fabric pipelines or flat files, and pushing data out through the Export API costs extra on both plans.

Prophix announced the Prophix One MCP Server, an Autonomous Planning Agent, Prophix One for Microsoft Office and Cash Management bank integration covering more than 10,000 US and Canadian institutions.
Prophix and Taxvibes announced tax provisioning, Pillar Two and country-by-country reporting modules built on Prophix consolidated data.
The Spring 2026 release made Copilot for Teams and the Architect Agent available to all Prophix One customers and announced a Consolidation Agent.
Prophix said Prophix One is generally available to buy through AWS Marketplace accounts.
Prophix announced its first agents, with the Budgeting and Reporting Agents available to all customers from 27 September 2025.
Prophix launched its AI engine with Prophix Copilot, a natural language interface over product help and financial data.
Prophix publishes no prices. Third-party benchmarks put the floor near $50,000 a year: CFO Shortlist reports about $65,000 a year typical with a $50,000 to $200,000 range (published 24 September 2026), while Vendr shows a $205,526 average across 5 deals (both reported, read 30 September 2026).
The quote moves with the count of users at each license level, the modules you buy, and the number of models of each type in your contract. Prophix says its AI agents, Copilot for Office and Teams, and the MCP server are included in the subscription. Implementation is extra.
Annual subscriptions are the norm, and buyers report better pricing on 2 to 3 year terms (Vendr community insight, CFO Shortlist). Prophix's public Terms of Use cover only its website; the subscription agreement is not published on prophix.com (checked 30 September 2026).
Prophix documents Excel exports such as the Security Audit Report and reconciliation close packages, the Analyzer add-in for pulling model data into Excel, and read-only MCP queries; it publishes no bulk export or exit procedure on the pages checked. Ask for written exit terms covering a full export of model data, dimension structures, workflow history and audit logs in a documented format, and how long Prophix keeps your data after the term ends.
Prophix says many customers go live in as little as 8 weeks and quotes 8 to 16 weeks on its OneStream comparison page. Its services team runs a five-phase plan (initiation, discovery, execution, deployment, transition), and certified partners also implement.
Plan for your FP&A lead and controller to own the model, an IT contact to supply ERP credentials and SSO, and budget owners to test workflow. Entity count and consolidation rules stretch the timeline more than planning scope does. The Architect Agent, which maps GL data into a starter model, is a vendor claim to test in the demo.
Claude can read Prophix data today. The first-party Prophix MCP server, released in September 2026, connects Claude, ChatGPT or Microsoft Copilot to FP&A Plus with 28 read-only tools over cubes, members, period comparisons and headcount records, under each user's Prophix permissions.
It cannot write budgets or forecasts back, read comments or transaction drill-down, or reach classic Financial Planning & Analysis or consolidation data. A Portal admin and a Claude org admin must set up the connector. Write-type work stays inside Prophix, where the Planning Agent can save model data with review checkpoints.
