Concur appears in 330 of the live accounting job postings in our database, Coupa in 297, Bill.com in 210, Ramp in 171 and Expensify in 52, and the median pay on the Ramp postings ($118,750) sits roughly $46,000 above the median on the Concur ones ($72,800). Those are posted salary midpoints, they come from postings pulled straight off employer career pages as of November 2026, and the gap is a lot more interesting than the leaderboard, because it tells you which kind of finance team buys which tool, and that matters whether you are choosing software or choosing your next job.
Concur leads with 330 postings, Coupa follows with 297, then Bill.com with 210, Ramp with 171, Expensify with 52, Brex with 30, Navan with 28 and Airbase with 13. Ramp is the one I would watch, since it already shows up in just over half as many postings as Concur, in a market where Concur has had a couple of decades of head start. Counting a tool in a job posting is a measure of who has to operate it day to day, which is a different thing from market share, so don't read this as a sales ranking. If you want the broader view of software in AP roles specifically, we already wrote up what accounts payable teams get hired to run.
Look at the role mix and the picture sharpens. Of the 330 Concur postings, 97 are accounts payable roles, so Concur reads like a clerk and specialist tool where somebody processes the volume all day. Coupa leans analyst, with 52 of its 297 postings in analyst titles. Bill.com and Ramp skew the other way: 21 of 210 Bill.com postings and 27 of 171 Ramp postings are controller roles, against 11 of 330 for Concur. My read is a small team where the controller picks the card and the bill pay, sets it up and owns it, though that is an inference from the role titles and I would not claim the software causes the pay difference. The correlation is strong enough that the tool in a posting works as a quick tell for the job underneath it.
Median posted midpoints: Ramp $118,750, Coupa $103,750, Bill.com $92,500, Expensify $90,000 and Concur $72,800. A fair caution is that these are medians over whichever postings show pay and the role mix drives much of the difference. Still, if you are an AP specialist who already knows Concur and you want to move up, the postings suggest adding the tools that controller-level roles name (Bill.com and Ramp) and learning how the approval and coding rules inside them work. You can see how those roles look on the Audit Friendly job board, and the federal view of the profession, which does not track software at all, is on the Bureau of Labor Statistics page for accountants and auditors.
If your controller will run the stack, the postings say Ramp and Bill.com are what other controllers are being asked to operate, which suggests the talent pool already knows them. If you process thousands of invoices and expense reports with a dedicated team, Concur and Coupa appear in far more postings, so you can write the tool in the posting and expect applicants who have touched it. That hiring angle is the part most buyer guides skip. We cover the broader decision in our spend management software buyer's guide, and you can compare vendors in the Audit Friendly software directory.
Before you shortlist anything, search the job board for the tool you are considering and read ten postings, because that is the closest thing to a free reference call on who runs it and what they pay to staff it. Then ask your own people which of these they have already used, since the cheapest tool to roll out is the one your team can run without a training budget. And if AI is part of your plan, look at how each vendor handles approvals and coding, as we wrote in AI in spend management. Build a small comparison sheet this week, even an ugly one, because anything you write down will beat a vendor demo you half remember.
In our live postings Concur is named most often at 330, followed by Coupa at 297, Bill.com at 210 and Ramp at 171.
Not on this evidence. Concur still appears in nearly twice as many postings as Ramp, and it has no sign of going anywhere.
Yes, the median posted midpoint is $118,750 for Ramp postings and $72,800 for Concur postings, though role mix explains much of the gap.
Concur remains the most requested, but Bill.com and Ramp show up more often in controller-level postings, so adding one of those is the clearer path up.
The software directory lists vendors, and the job board shows which ones employers actually hire people to run.
Pick one tool from this list, open a free trial or a sandbox, and process ten fake transactions this week, because hands-on time is the cheapest resume line you can add.
