Ivalua is a source-to-pay suite for large enterprises and public agencies that runs sourcing, contracts, supplier management, procurement, invoicing and payments on one configurable data model, with an in-product AI agent called IVA.
Independently scored, one dimension at a time. Every dimension is sourced, and we say whether a claim is published, reported, or estimated.
Ivalua reported 500+ customers, 1,000+ employees in 15 offices and 24 percent organic subscription revenue growth for 2025 (29 January 2026), with customers such as BAE Systems, Pernod Ricard and VINCI Energies France, which runs 10,000+ users. IDC, as quoted by Ivalua on 22 September 2026, credits 60+ ERP connectors and deployment on private cloud (98 percent of customers), on-premises or a government cloud. The practical limit as scope grows is configuration effort.
Ivalua announced ISO 27001 on 15 November 2022 alongside existing SOC 1 and SOC 2 reports, and later cited TISAX Level 2 and an Australian IRAP assessment at OFFICIAL: Sensitive (10 December 2025). Its AP and payments pages list segregation of duties, blocking of duplicate and non-compliant invoices, bank ownership validation and matching to POs, receipts and contract price lists, with country rules for 50+ countries (vendor claim). Two gaps: its FedRAMP claim is for a 'FedRAMP-compliant' environment and Ivalua is absent from GSA's FedRAMP marketplace data, and its 2024 French PDP registration is not on DGFiP's current approved-platform lists (checked 27 September 2026).
Ivalua says over 80 percent of its customers run SAP and offers a plug-and-play connector for SAP ECC and S/4HANA on-premises, with S/4HANA Cloud through web services, and it includes its Integration Workplace (APIs, ETL, integration console) at no extra charge (multi-ERP page, checked 27 September 2026). IDC counts 60+ ERP connectors and support for cXML, EDI, SAP IDocs and REST. The same page shows NetSuite and Sage among 60 systems Ivalua has integrated to, but it publishes a packaged connector only for SAP and shows no QuickBooks Online or Xero, so mid-market ERPs mean an integration project.
Ivalua's standard maintenance terms (NASPO master agreement, 2023) take defects only through a customer extranet, cover 8am to 6pm on weekdays and promise a 2-hour response on blocking defects. Premium adds 24x5 Severity 1 coverage, and Platinum adds 24x7 Severity 1 coverage with a 1-hour response; end-user and supplier helpdesk is an optional purchase, and ivalua.com/services promises a dedicated customer success manager for the term. Review evidence is thin: GetApp shows 3.5 of 5 for customer support with no review count, and Capterra shows the same 3.5 from 4 of its 6 reviews (checked 27 September 2026).
IVA, rebuilt on IVA Studio and launched in beta on 11 June 2026 with general availability promised for summer, is described as one agent that can take any action a user can, under that user's permissions and with every action logged, on the LLM of the customer's choice. Ivalua's agentic AI page claims bidirectional MCP, but no endpoint, tool list or setup guide is public, the official MCP registry returns no Ivalua server, and API documentation is customer-only (checked 27 September 2026). Outcome figures such as 90 percent achievable touchless invoices are vendor claims.
Ivalua's Payments module builds and routes ACH, check, EFT and cross-border payment runs from approved invoices through the customer's own banks, with consolidation across ERPs, bank ownership validation and sliding-scale early payment discounts (payments page). Virtual and purchasing cards come from existing bank programs, 50+ card banks per Ivalua and a BNP Paribas partnership announced 13 March 2024, so rebates stay with the issuer. Ivalua issues no cards and publishes no payment or FX fees; it hands execution to the banks.
Ivalua runs a partner-first delivery model with 4,000+ certified partner members, 2,200+ of them at the highest certification level (partners page), and its standard terms require Ivalua-certified staff or a certified partner for any configuration. Public cases range from an eProcurement rollout in four months (Axon' Cable, 16 October 2025) and a source-to-contract go-live with ERP in under 90 days to 4 ERPs and 166 integration points in six months. There is no public sandbox or trial, and multi-module global programs run longer.
Ivalua publishes no prices, and its Microsoft Marketplace listing offers only 'Contact me'; no Vendr or SpendHound page exists. Two public anchors exist: GetApp lists a start of $150,000 a year with no stated source, and the NASPO ValuePoint master agreement caps US state licensing and maintenance at about $13 million to $23 million over 10 years plus $2.34 million to $3.68 million to implement. The same contract publishes the standard renewal clause (higher of 5 percent or CPI), so buyers can read Ivalua's standard terms before a sales call.

You are buying one source-to-pay platform, built on a single code base since 2000, that runs sourcing, contracts, supplier management, procurement, invoicing and payments on one data model. Ivalua reports 500+ customers, and Gartner named it a Leader in the Magic Quadrant for Source-to-Pay Suites in 2024, 2025 and 2026 (per Ivalua, 23 January 2026). IDC singles out its direct materials depth (APQP, PPAP, bill-of-materials cost modeling), and US public buyers can use its NASPO ValuePoint contract, which runs to December 2032.
The catch is effort and price discipline. Ivalua is quote only; GetApp lists a start of $150,000 a year, and the standard terms attached to its NASPO contract raise each renewal by the higher of 5 percent or CPI. Implementation is partner-led, and any configuration must be done by Ivalua-certified people. Standard support takes defects only through a portal during business hours. IVA, Ivalua's assistant since 2023, was rebuilt as an agent on IVA Studio, which entered beta on 11 June 2026, and the MCP access Ivalua advertises has no public documentation (checked 27 September 2026).
Before signing, get in writing: a renewal cap that replaces the 5 percent or CPI floor, the support tier and Severity 1 hours for each region, the implementation partner's rate card and fixed-scope milestones, who pays for upgrade testing, the data export format at exit, the MCP tool list with its read and write scope and a GA date, and Ivalua's current approved-platform status if you receive invoices in France.
Jobs, mapped to how finance teams actually buy.
Category teams run RFx events, awards and contract authoring against the same supplier, spend and contract data. Ivalua's 26 February 2026 release says the Department of Culture and Tourism in Abu Dhabi cut procurement cycle times 23 percent after digitizing contract management. IVA skills for RFx analysis and price benchmarking were shown in beta in 2026.
PDF, XML and EDI invoices enter one workflow that matches lines to POs, receipts and contract price lists and blocks duplicates and non-compliant invoices. Approved invoices can be paid through Ivalua's Payments module or handed back to each ERP. Forrester named Ivalua a Leader in its Q2 2026 Wave for AP invoice automation, per Ivalua.
Suppliers register and update bank and compliance data in a free portal, with bank ownership checks before payment. Risk data from partners such as Dun & Bradstreet, EcoVadis and Bureau van Dijk feeds the same record. Ivalua's September 2026 blog describes IVA pulling Dun & Bradstreet data over MCP during onboarding and sourcing.
Employees buy from catalogs, punchouts and intake forms under approval rules, and Ivalua added a conversational intake front door in December 2024. Axon' Cable went live with eProcurement, ERP integration and 11 punchout catalogs in four months with partner Cyrias. A July 2026 Unite partnership adds 2,000+ vetted European suppliers for tail spend.
Ivalua's Integration Workplace combines APIs, ETL and an integration console that logs payloads and lets permitted users re-trigger failed flows. It transcodes records from multiple SAP or other ERP instances into one Ivalua record. Ivalua says the tooling is included in the platform at no extra charge.
Forget the 40-row feature grid. Pick a finance workflow and see how this tool and its closest peers actually do it, with our verdict on who wins for whom.
Here's what it really costs: published rates where a vendor lists them, aggregated quote data where they don't, plus a path to your own number.
Source-to-contract, procure-to-pay, supplier management, direct materials and payments modules, priced by scope, users and suppliers.
Not-to-exceed licensing and maintenance for small to large US states under the Maine-led master agreement; implementation caps of $2.34M to $3.68M.
Delivered mainly by certified partners, with Ivalua professional services and customer success involved.
Adds 24x5 (Premium) or 24x7 (Platinum) Severity 1 coverage, more named contacts and, for Platinum, a 1-hour Severity 1 response.
Optional level 1 phone and email help for end users and suppliers, 90 percent of questions answered within an hour in business hours.
Standalone French e-invoicing platform service launched 22 February 2024, hosted in France.
Branded supplier collaboration site for onboarding, invoice and payment status.
APIs, ETL, integration console and SAP connector; Ivalua says connectivity carries no extra charge.
Section 6.2 of Ivalua's subscription agreement, attached to its NASPO ValuePoint master agreement with Maine (awarded 15 August 2023), raises annual fees at each renewal by the higher of 5 percent or the 12-month change in US CPI, or euro-area HICP for Ivalua SAS contracts, unless the order says otherwise. Subscriptions auto-renew for one year unless either side gives 60 days' notice, and fees are non-cancellable. Four annual renewals at the floor lift fees about 22 percent above the last initial-term price (Audit Friendly estimate). Write a fixed cap into the order form.
Ivalua's maintenance terms (Schedule 1, section 2.5, in the NASPO master agreement) require anyone configuring the platform to hold Ivalua Level 2 certification, Level 3 for integrations, or to work for a certified partner, and configurations must be uploaded to Ivalua's extranet. Defects caused by non-compliant configuration are excluded from support, and Ivalua may charge to fix them. The Ivalua Academy offers the courses, so plan certification time for in-house admins or budget for a partner after go-live. Read 27 September 2026.
IDC, as quoted by Ivalua on 22 September 2026, says 98 percent of customers run on private cloud, and customers follow Ivalua's Upgrade Process to take new releases. The standard terms say Ivalua is not responsible for defects, security issues or SLA misses when a customer is out of compliance with that process. Ardent Partners reported in April 2026 that 70 percent of the base was on the latest version. Ask who does regression testing for each upgrade and whether it is inside the subscription.
Ivalua announced on 13 September 2024 that DGFiP registered it as a Partner Dematerialization Platform with number 0045, and it sells a standalone Government Gateway: PDP service. France later reopened registration under the plateformes agreees regime, and neither list published on impots.gouv.fr and checked 27 September 2026 names Ivalua. If you receive invoices in France, ask Ivalua for its current registration or the approved platform it routes through, in writing.
Ivalua's agentic AI page says outside agents can call into Ivalua over MCP, and IVA Studio launched in beta on 11 June 2026 with GA promised for summer. As of 27 September 2026 there was no public MCP endpoint, tool list or setup guide, no entry in the official MCP registry or Claude's connector directory, and no GA release in Ivalua's newsroom. REST API documentation is customer-only. Make MCP scope, write permissions and GA dates a contract exhibit if agents matter to the business case.
Under Ivalua's standard maintenance terms (NASPO master agreement, 2023), Standard support takes defects only through the customer extranet, 8am to 6pm on weekdays in the customer's region, with two named contacts and a 2-hour response on blocking defects. Premium extends Severity 1 to 24x5 and Platinum to 24x7 with a 1-hour response. Premium and Platinum response times depend on letting Ivalua staff in France, Canada, India and the US access your data, which matters for data-residency rules.
Scored on what an outside agent can actually reach: the documented API, how it authenticates, and whether the vendor ships an MCP server.
Inside the product, Ivalua launched IVA on IVA Studio in beta on 11 June 2026 and said it would be generally available in summer; no GA announcement appears in its newsroom as of 27 September 2026. Ivalua says IVA can take any action a user can across source-to-pay, inherits the invoking user's permissions, logs every action and runs on models from OpenAI, Google, Mistral, Anthropic, Meta or xAI, or a customer's own. Ardent Partners listed dozens of prebuilt skills shown at Ivalua NOW in March 2026, from RFx analysis to AP coding. Outcome figures such as 90 percent achievable touchless invoices and a 393 percent ROI (a Forrester study Ivalua commissioned) are vendor claims.
Exists: claimed but undocumented. Ivalua's agentic AI page states 'Bidirectional MCP: IVA calls your tools, your agents call into Ivalua.' No public endpoint, developer page or setup guide was found; the official MCP registry returns no Ivalua server, GitHub has no Ivalua organization or first-party MCP repository, and Claude's connector directory has no Ivalua entry (all checked 27 September 2026). The one documented MCP use runs outbound: IVA calling Dun & Bradstreet's MCP server inside IVA Studio (Ivalua blog, updated 18 September 2026).
Scope: unpublished. Ivalua has not said which objects an outside agent can read or write over MCP, or whether approvals, POs or payment runs are exposed. Below MCP sits a REST API; IDC, as quoted by Ivalua, counts 40 standard APIs plus cXML, EDI and SAP IDocs, but the documentation is customer-only, and the only public profile is a third-party one from API Evangelist.
Turnkey: no. MCP connections, tools and models are managed by administrators in IVA Studio, which Ivalua calls the AI control tower, and Ivalua's standard terms require certified staff for configuration. There is no one-click listing in Claude's directory, so an outside agent means an admin project with Ivalua or a partner.
Who wins for whom: An SAP-centric enterprise that wants catalog and intake buying on a plug-and-play SAP connector, with Ivalua's integration console included: Ivalua. A global enterprise that wants requisitions, POs and supplier PO confirmations on one record, with Coupa-built NetSuite bundles: Coupa. A company on SAP ERP or S/4HANA that wants POs and master data to move through SAP's own integration content: SAP Ariba.
SAP connector, multi-ERP console. Employees buy from catalogs, punchouts and intake forms under approval rules, a plug-and-play connector links SAP ECC and S/4HANA, and Ivalua says its Integration Workplace of APIs, ETL and an integration console carries no extra charge.
Where it loses: Ivalua publishes a packaged connector only for SAP, shows NetSuite and Sage only as past integrations and lists no QuickBooks Online or Xero, so mid-market ERPs mean an integration project.

Intake to PO under one policy. Coupa routes requests through Smart Intake and Orchestration into requisitions and POs with approval chains, suppliers confirm POs in the free supplier portal, and Coupa-built NetSuite bundles ship prebuilt SuiteScripts for POs, invoices and payments.
Where it loses: Only the NetSuite bundles are Coupa-built: SAP, Dynamics 365, Business Central, Sage Intacct and QuickBooks Online run on partner accelerators, and other ERPs rely on the Core API or CSV flat files.

SAP-native, APIs or files elsewhere. Intake Management takes requests across SAP and non-SAP systems, POs reach suppliers over SAP Business Network, and SAP's managed gateway carries POs, invoices and master data into SAP ERP and S/4HANA.
Where it loses: No native NetSuite, Sage Intacct or QuickBooks Online connector was found, so non-SAP ERPs use APIs or CSV over SFTP, and the planned Joule intake agent had no shipment note by 27 September 2026.

Who wins for whom: A global buyer that wants bank ownership checks and Dun & Bradstreet, EcoVadis or Bureau van Dijk risk data on every supplier record: Ivalua. A federal or regulated buyer that wants suppliers onboarded through a free portal with tax IDs and 1099 classification on file: Coupa. A procurement team enabling thousands of suppliers across many countries through registration, qualification and risk modules: SAP Ariba.
Supplier portal with bank checks. Suppliers register and update bank and compliance data in a free portal, bank ownership is validated before payment, and Dun & Bradstreet, EcoVadis and Bureau van Dijk risk data feeds the same supplier record.
Where it loses: Ivalua's FedRAMP claim is for a 'FedRAMP-compliant' environment absent from GSA's marketplace data, and its 2024 French PDP registration is not on DGFiP's current approved-platform lists.
Source: AF score rationale: Compliance depth 85; Ivalua use cases and pricing tiers.

Free portal, tax data on file. Suppliers join through the free Coupa Supplier Portal, supplier information management stores 1099 classification, federal tax ID and FATCA status, and Coupa lists SOC 1 and SOC 2 reports, ISO 27001 and a FedRAMP Moderate federal edition.
Where it loses: No public page on 1099 e-filing was found, and Coupa stopped issuing legal invoices on suppliers' behalf in Croatia and Greece in 2026, so those suppliers attach their own XML e-invoices.

Supplier lifecycle and risk modules. Supplier Lifecycle and Performance handles registration, qualification and segmentation, with Supplier Risk alongside, suppliers join SAP Business Network on a free standard account, and SAP commits to go-live within 14 weeks of kickoff for that module.
Where it loses: No 1099 or W-9 handling was found, a July 2026 update addresses SOC 2 auditor findings, and suppliers past $50,000 and five documents with a buyer can owe network fees.
Source: AF score rationale: Compliance depth 84; SAP Ariba use cases and pricing tiers.

Ivalua described pairing Dun & Bradstreet's REST APIs with D&B's MCP server inside IVA Studio for supplier onboarding, risk monitoring and pre-award screening (blog, published 9 September 2026 and updated 18 September 2026).
Deloitte announced a strategic alliance to deliver direct and indirect source-to-pay and supplier management projects on Ivalua's platform and IVA Studio.
Ivalua customers can search and buy from Unite's supplier network inside existing Ivalua workflows, and Unite can publish customers' contracted catalogs to Ivalua's Search360.
Ivalua said Forrester named it a Leader, citing its supplier collaboration center and auditable invoice and payment status tracking.
Ivalua launched IVA, one agent across source-to-pay, on IVA Studio in beta with skills, bring-your-own LLM and MCP connections; general availability was promised for summer.
Ivalua said Gartner placed it in the Leaders quadrant of a report evaluating 13 source-to-pay vendors, dated 21 January 2026.
Ivalua does not publish prices. Its Microsoft Marketplace listing offers only 'Contact me', and no Vendr or SpendHound page exists for it (checked 27 September 2026). GetApp's listing shows a starting price of $150,000 a year but does not say where the figure comes from.
The one signed public price list is the NASPO ValuePoint master agreement led by Maine: not-to-exceed licensing and maintenance of about $13 million, $19 million and $23 million over 10 years for small, medium and large states, plus $2.34 million to $3.68 million for implementation. Those are government ceilings, and corporate deals are smaller. A Forrester study commissioned by Ivalua put three-year costs for a $1 billion revenue composite company at $6.5 million, including internal effort.
Ivalua's standard subscription agreement, as attached to its 2023 NASPO master agreement, bills fees annually in advance, makes them non-cancellable and non-refundable, and renews automatically for one-year periods unless either side gives 60 days' notice. Unless the order says otherwise, each renewal rises by the higher of 5 percent or CPI (HICP for Ivalua SAS contracts).
On exit, Ivalua returns data at no cost, uploaded documents in their original format and application data as a standard database backup, if you ask within 30 days of termination. Other formats cost extra under a statement of work, and environments are deleted after 30 days. Negotiate a longer export window and a usable format, such as CSV extracts, before signing.
Ivalua describes a partner-first model: Deloitte, KPMG, PwC, Capgemini, Accenture and boutique firms such as Cyrias deliver projects, with Ivalua's services and customer success teams involved. Its standard terms require configuration by Ivalua-certified staff or a certified partner.
Published cases run from four months for an eProcurement rollout with ERP integration and 11 punchout catalogs (Axon' Cable, October 2025) to six months for four ERPs and 166 integration points at a $20 billion global manufacturer, and a source-to-contract deployment at a CHF 24 billion financial services customer went live with ERP in under 90 days (vendor cases). Multi-module programs for global groups take longer, so ask for a phased plan by module.
Inside Ivalua, the IVA agent (beta since 11 June 2026) acts under the invoking user's permissions and logs every action, and it can call outside tools over MCP; Ivalua documents one example, Dun & Bradstreet's MCP server (September 2026).
For an outside agent such as Claude, Ivalua's site says 'your agents call into Ivalua' over MCP, but no endpoint, tool list, scope or setup guide is public. The official MCP registry and Claude's connector directory have no Ivalua entry, and REST API documentation is customer-only (checked 27 September 2026). Treat agent access as an admin project and ask Ivalua for its MCP documentation in writing.
