Zip is an intake-to-procure and procure-to-pay platform that gives enterprises one front door for purchase requests, vendor risk reviews, contracts and invoices, and orchestrates the ERP or P2P suite underneath, from NetSuite to SAP Ariba and Coupa.

Zip reports 700+ customers and 5 million users (blog, 9 July 2026) and names T-Mobile, Dollar Tree, OpenAI and Anthropic as customers. AP pages describe ERP sync for multi-subsidiary operations, and Global Payments reaches 140+ countries in 40+ currencies. What breaks first is the low end: pricing and modules are built for large companies, per Vendr's ~$88,000 median.
Zip's Procure-to-Pay page lists SOC 1 Type 2, SOC 2 Type 2, ISO 27001, EU-US DPF and GDPR, and its enterprise page lists granular permissions for segregation of duties plus pre-packaged audit exports (read 27 September 2026). The Invoice Review Agent flags duplicates and PO tolerance breaches and runs three-way matching against contract data (blog, 6 May 2026), and supplier onboarding automates TIN, VAT, OFAC, D&B and bank checks. E-invoicing mandates are handled through a Sovos partnership (14 July 2026), and no 1099 filing is described on the pages read.
In product, five Superagents (Intake, Procurement, Contract, AP, Config) launched in beta on 2 June 2026, Sourcing and PO Management Superagents followed on 16 September 2026, and 50+ task agents date from June 2025. Zip hosts a first-party MCP server at mcp.zip.com with per-user OAuth and 50+ actions covering request status, preferred vendors, spend reporting and request submission, also launched in beta on 2 June 2026. Setup docs sit in a customer-only help center, and Zip is absent from the official MCP registry and Claude's connector directory (checked 27 September 2026).
Zip's integration FAQ lists SAP S/4HANA, Oracle Fusion, Workday, NetSuite, Business Central and Sage Intacct, plus SAP Ariba, Coupa and Ivalua on the P2P side (read 27 September 2026). NetSuite has a Built for NetSuite SuiteApp with vendor, PO and spend-category sync, and the SAP Ariba connector creates requisitions and syncs their status back. QuickBooks Online and Xero are not on the list, sync depth for the other ERPs is not documented publicly, and Accrual Automation (16 September 2026) prepares journal entries that a person approves before posting.
Zip says a deployment takes eight weeks or less with no-code configuration (NetSuite blog, 31 March 2026). Customer stories show a range: Bitpanda live on intake-to-procure and procure-to-pay in under eight weeks, Coinbase in 90 days with custom integrations, and Cambium about six months. The September 2026 Marketplace adds 20+ integration templates with an AI-guided setup wizard; custom connectors go through App Studio or Zip's services team.
Zip's Standard Support Policy (August 2023) covers 6am to 6pm Pacific on US business days through in-app ticketing or email, with a first response within 4 hours on high-priority tickets and 1 to 2 business days otherwise. An Enterprise Transformation Office of former procurement leaders advises customers, and Zip runs a training academy behind its customer login. G2 pages were bot-blocked; Toolradar reports a 4.7 of 5 aggregate from 53 G2 reviews (checked 19 March 2026).
Global Payments is an add-on run by Airwallex for US customers, covering 140+ countries and 40+ currencies with bank account verification in 30+ countries (zip.com, read 27 September 2026). Vendor Cards are Visa commercial cards powered by Stripe and issued by Celtic Bank, and Brex cards can be issued inside Zip requests. Payment fees are not published, Zip's payment terms say intermediary bank fees may apply, and other Zip pages quote 180+ or 200+ countries.
Zip publishes no price list, and its AP automation FAQ says to contact sales. The one public price is an AWS Marketplace pilot at $75,000 for 12 months covering 100 active users and one workflow, prepaid with no refund. Vendr shows a median of $88,000 a year from 75 purchases (range $26,586 to $214,750, updated February 2026), and add-ons, AI credits and payment fees are priced separately.

You are buying a procurement front door and workflow layer. Employees file purchase, vendor and renewal requests in one place, and Zip routes each one through the finance, legal, IT and security reviews it needs, then creates the requisition or PO in your ERP or suite, or runs PO, invoice and payment steps itself through its Procure-to-Pay module. Zip reports 700+ customers and 5 million users (9 July 2026), and Gartner placed it as a Visionary in its 2026 Magic Quadrant for Source-to-Pay Suites (announced 23 January 2026). Customer stories on zip.com credit the requester experience for pulling spend back into policy.
The catch is price and maturity at the edges. Zip is quote only: Vendr puts the median contract at about $88,000 a year across 75 purchases, and Zip's own AWS Marketplace pilot lists $75,000 for 12 months covering 100 active users and one workflow. Standard support runs 6am to 6pm Pacific on US business days. Payments run on partners (Airwallex, Stripe with Celtic Bank, Brex), and Zip's pages quote different country counts. The MCP server and Superagents launched in beta on 2 June 2026 with general availability promised for that summer, and no GA announcement was found by 27 September 2026.
Get these in writing before signing: every module, add-on and AI credit bundle in the price, a cap on renewal increases, which ERP and suite connectors are included and who builds them, support hours and response times for each region you operate in, payment and FX fees from the payment processor, and whether MCP and Superagents are GA on your tenant. The January 2023 master subscription agreement attached to Zip's AWS listing makes fees non-cancelable, and the January 2023 security policy it incorporates lets customers export data only during the term and has Zip delete live data within 30 days of termination, so negotiate an export window after termination.

Give every software and services purchase one front door
Employees file requests in Zip, which routes each one through the finance, legal, IT and security steps it needs before a PO exists. Datadog's story on zip.com reports cycle times of 4.9 days for purchases and 8.7 days for software. Zip's AI Procurement Concierge pre-fills intake from uploaded documents and steers requesters to preferred suppliers.
Put vendor risk review inside the purchase
AI Risk Orchestration triages each request, pre-fills questionnaires from supplier data already in Zip and scores suppliers against the company's own framework before approval. Zip expanded it into a full third-party risk product on 16 September 2026. Outcome figures come from Zip's own customer stories.
Code and match invoices against the PO and contract
Zip's AP agents pull invoices from the AP inbox, code lines from intake data and past patterns, and flag duplicates, PO tolerance breaches and contract mismatches before an approver sees them (blog, 6 May 2026). Because the request, PO and contract already sit in Zip, the match carries context an invoice-only tool lacks. Zip publishes no accuracy or touchless rates.
Negotiate SaaS renewals with benchmark data
Since 4 February 2026, Zip's Price Negotiation Agent compares a renewal with the customer's own history and Vendr's pricing data and suggests tactics. The September 2026 data partnerships add NPI, SpendHound, Tropic, Beroe, Brightfield and TEEM. Savings totals Zip cites, such as $10 billion across customers, are vendor claims.
Issue a vendor card inside an approved request
Vendor Cards put card issuance inside the request workflow with limits, merchant locks and expiry dates, and transactions sync to the ERP against the approved request. Cards are Visa commercial cards powered by Stripe and issued by Celtic Bank, or Brex cards through the Brex for Zip integration (announced 20 May 2025). Rebate terms come from the card provider.

What it actually takes to go live
Vendr lists this vendor as Zip HQ with an $88,000 median from 75 purchases, while its separate 'Zip' pages describe Zip Co Limited with a $60,000 median and a $72,150 average (read 27 September 2026). A ProcureDesk comparison cites Vendr at $72,000 to $82,000 a year for Zip, a range close to the Zip Co figures (Audit Friendly reading). Zip also moved its site from ziphq.com to zip.com, and old links redirect. Check that any benchmark names ziphq.com before using it.
Zip's Standard Support Policy (August 2023) takes tickets through in-app ticketing or email and promises a first response within 4 hours on high-priority issues, 1 business day on medium and 2 business days on low, with no promise on resolution time. That leaves EMEA and APAC teams outside the covered window for most of their day. The linked availability SLA document returned 403, so the uptime commitment is unverified (checked 27 September 2026). Negotiate extended hours if you run global approvals.
Zip's launch release said MCP and Superagents were in beta and would be generally available that summer, and Zip's own recap of 12 June 2026 said both would be available later that summer. Sourcing and PO Management Superagents were announced on 16 September 2026, but no GA announcement for MCP or Superagents was found by 27 September 2026. The MCP setup article and the developer hub both sit behind customer logins, so write scope cannot be checked from outside. Ask for the current tool list and release status in writing.
Zip's Global Payments page names Airwallex US as the payment services provider, and Zip's payment terms say Zip is not a bank or money transmitter and that intermediary bank fees may apply. The same product family cites 140+ countries and 40+ currencies, 200+ countries and 60+ currencies with 110+ local clearing systems, and 180+ countries in a product video (read 27 September 2026). Ask which rails, currencies and fees apply to your supplier base.
Zip's master subscription agreement (January 2023 version, attached to its AWS Marketplace listing) says payment obligations are non-cancelable and amounts paid are non-refundable, and prepaid professional services expire 12 months after purchase. Customers own their data. The agreement incorporates Zip's Information Security Policy (also January 2023), which lets customers export data at any time during the term and has Zip delete live customer data within 30 days of termination, so no export window runs after the contract ends. Zip may also use service usage data to improve the product. The AWS pilot itself is prepaid with no refund. Add an export window after termination and a renewal cap to the order form.

Inside the product, Zip runs task agents launched in June 2025 (invoice coding, risk detection, price negotiation with Vendr benchmark data, RFx generation and more) and Superagents that chain those tasks. Intake, Procurement, Contract, AP and Config Superagents launched in beta on 2 June 2026, and Sourcing and PO Management Superagents were added on 16 September 2026. Zip says every agent action runs under the acting user's roles, with human approval steps and an audit trail. Outcome figures such as UCI Health's $20 million in cost avoidance are customer claims published by Zip, with no independent audit.
Exists: yes, first-party and vendor-hosted. The server answers at mcp.zip.com/mcp with an OAuth challenge that names app.zip.com as the authorization server, which supports dynamic client registration (probed 27 September 2026). Zip launched it in beta on 2 June 2026 and said it would be generally available that summer; no GA announcement was found by 27 September 2026, and the server is not listed in the official MCP registry.
Scope: Zip's MCP page cites 50+ native actions and three jobs: track request status and blockers, find preferred vendors, and summarize data across requests. The launch release adds aggregated reporting across suppliers, requests, invoices and payments, and surfacing a request submission from an AI conversation, so writes reach at least the start of a request. Zip has not published whether approvals, PO edits or payments can run through MCP; its setup article in the help center returned 403 to public requests.
Turnkey: partly. Zip says any MCP-compatible client (Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Copilot) can connect in minutes under each user's OAuth permissions, but Zip has no listing in Claude's connector directory, so users add it as a custom connector. Below MCP sits a REST API with per-key or OAuth permissions that can extract, create and update vendors, requests, invoices and POs; its developer hub requires a customer login. An unofficial, read-only community server (stevenvo/ziphq-mcp-server on GitHub, December 2025) wraps that API.

Intake to PO under one policy. Coupa routes requests through Smart Intake and Orchestration into requisitions and POs with approval chains, suppliers confirm POs in the free supplier portal, and Coupa-built NetSuite bundles ship prebuilt SuiteScripts for POs, invoices and payments.
Where it loses: Only the NetSuite bundles are Coupa-built: SAP, Dynamics 365, Business Central, Sage Intacct and QuickBooks Online run on partner accelerators, and other ERPs rely on the Core API or CSV flat files.

PO add-on on a spend platform. The Procurement add-on takes plain-English requests, routes parallel approvals to finance, IT and legal and creates POs, while Plus syncs NetSuite custom segments at line level and imports POs for 2 and 3-way match.
Where it loses: Procurement is a quote-only add-on to a spend platform, native multi-entity sync covers only NetSuite and Sage Intacct with Universal CSV elsewhere, and no SAP ERP connector is listed.

Free portal, tax data on file. Suppliers join through the free Coupa Supplier Portal, supplier information management stores 1099 classification, federal tax ID and FATCA status, and Coupa lists SOC 1 and SOC 2 reports, ISO 27001 and a FedRAMP Moderate federal edition.
Where it loses: No public page on 1099 e-filing was found, and Coupa stopped issuing legal invoices on suppliers' behalf in Croatia and Greece in 2026, so those suppliers attach their own XML e-invoices.

Agent checks plus 1099 filing. Procurement agents launched 29 April 2026 run compliance checks, the workflow builder links CLM and third-party risk tools, Plus syncs vendors two-way with NetSuite, and Ramp files 1099-NEC and MISC at $0.65 per IRS form.

The one public list price is Zip's AWS Marketplace pilot: $75,000 for 12 months with 100 active users and one workflow, prepaid with no refund. Modules such as Procure-to-Pay and add-ons such as Global Payments and Vendor Cards are priced separately, and AI Spend Automation adds consumption credits and engineering time.
