Mesh Payments is a New York-based travel and expense platform that pairs prefunded, local-currency Visa cards in 40+ countries with travel booking, expenses and ERP sync, sold to mid-market and enterprise finance teams running several entities.
Independently scored, one dimension at a time. Every dimension is sourced, and we say whether a claim is published, reported, or estimated.
The help center lists 24/7/365 support by two phone numbers, email and in-app chat (updated 17 February 2025), and the homepage says 24/7 human support. Mesh's Deel post points customers to a Customer Success Manager, and the help center refers to an implementation team. G2 and Capterra blocked access on 27 September 2026, so no review score was checked; the homepage claim of 4.8 on G2 is vendor-stated, unverified and contradicted by a lower figure in a search listing of G2.
The cards page lists local-currency cards in 40+ countries and the global page lists reimbursements to 100+ countries and availability in the US, Canada, EU, UK, Hong Kong, Singapore and Australia. The Nayax case study describes about 50 entities in 12 countries (vendor-published). Each entity runs on a funded balance, and the December 2024 SoFi and Galileo release put Mesh volume above $1 billion a year.
The pricing page publishes Pro free for up to 3 users, Premium at $13 per user a month and a custom Enterprise tier (checked 27 September 2026). The Terms of Use publish the 1 percent cashback rule, and the SoFi cardholder agreement sets bank program fees at zero. Reimbursement, Payout and AP payment modules are unpriced add-ons and the FX mark-up has no published rate.
Mesh documents native integrations with NetSuite (custom records and segments, subsidiaries, PO-to-card), Xero, Business Central, Sage Intacct, QuickBooks Online, Priority and Unanet, plus a file export for other ERPs. Sync is triggered per transaction or in bulk from Mesh. Its Workday and Oracle Cloud integration links redirect to those vendors' own sites, and AP vendor sync covers NetSuite and Priority only.
Mesh states SOC 1 and SOC 2 Type II reports on its security page and PCI DSS and GDPR on its homepage (checked 27 September 2026). The help center documents per-workflow separation of duties and a read-only configuration audit trail (both updated 30 August 2026), plus duplicate and discrepancy flags on expenses and bills. No 1099 filing, W-9 collection or 2-way and 3-way invoice matching was found.
Setup runs through Mesh staff: KYB documents, a funded balance, and ERP connection through support for NetSuite (Xero and Business Central have self-serve steps). The MRI case study says the two largest units were live in 7 weeks and the whole company within 3 months, including NetSuite and Workday (vendor-published). The Nayax story notes NetSuite integration and KYB 'required careful coordination'.
Exists: a first-party hosted MCP server at api.meshpayments.com/mcp, launched 21 July 2026. Scope: read only over expenses, transactions, cards, categories and custom fields; writes are listed as coming soon. Turnkey: OAuth per user and a claimed Claude directory listing that Audit Friendly could not see on the public connectors page; the REST API docs sit behind a login.
Cards are prefunded Visa commercial prepaid cards (SoFi Bank in the US), with virtual cards, a numberless physical Plug & Pay card and local-currency issuing in 40+ countries. Deposits by ACH take 2 to 3 business days and all loads get a compliance review (help center, 8 May 2026). Bill pay is early access and pays only by US ACH or Israeli Masav; reimbursements to 100+ countries are an add-on.
Written by the Audit Friendly research team. No vendor edits, no sponsored placement.
You are buying a travel and expense platform built on Mesh-issued Visa virtual and physical cards, with travel booking that works alongside the TMCs you already use, reimbursements, and an ERP sync. In the US the card is a Visa commercial prepaid card issued by SoFi Bank, N.A.; Canada runs through Peoples Trust, the EU and UK through Adyen, and Australia and Singapore through Nium (published, checked 27 September 2026). Since May 2026 Mesh pitches an Orchestration Layer that also governs cards you keep, such as Amex, and it launched a hosted MCP server on 21 July 2026.
The catch is how the money works. The card spends a balance you deposit, and ACH loads take 2 to 3 business days plus a compliance review, so month-end cash planning changes. Cashback defaults to 1 percent but only when card spend tops $50,000 in every month counted, reimbursements and payouts are paid add-ons, and bill pay is in early access and pays only by US ACH or Israeli Masav. The MCP server reads data and cannot yet submit, approve or issue anything.
Before signing, get in writing: whether you prefund or get Capital Advance terms and at what payment date, the FX mark-up Mesh adds on top of Visa's rate, the price of the Reimbursement, Payout and AP payment modules, and which of your ERPs sync both ways. Ask for three references at your size. Mesh quotes 1,000+, 1,500+ and 2,000+ customers on different pages, and its last reported equity round was in September 2022.
Jobs, mapped to how finance teams actually buy.
A subscription card is issued per vendor and locked so it cannot be used anywhere else, which stops surprise renewals and makes cancelling one click. This was Mesh's original product and still anchors the SaaS spend pages. Limits and alerts are set per card.
Nayax, with close to 50 entities in 12 countries, says 70 percent of its entities now run on Mesh and that monthly reconciliation dropped from about a week to two days; both points come from Mesh's case study and are vendor-claimed. Local-currency cards in 40+ countries avoid FX on local spend. Each entity needs its own funded balance.
Mesh supports multiple travel agencies per entity plus offline and direct booking. The May 2026 Orchestration Layer announcement names Navan, Spotnana, CTM Lightning and Altour Connect as pre-integrated. Treat the zero-touch matching as announced until a reference confirms it.
The NetSuite PO-to-Card integration creates a virtual card sized to the PO and carries the PO's coding into Mesh. A help center note updated 25 March 2026 says it now reads expense lines as well as item lines. The Mesh implementation team configures it.
Since 10 August 2026, approved expenses for Deel workers flow into Deel as payroll adjustments, covering EOR, contractors, PEO, Global Payroll and US Payroll. Direct employees still go to the ERP. Mesh shows Deel's status on each expense.
Finance staff can ask an AI assistant for spend by team, unreconciled transactions or idle cards, and the answer comes from live Mesh data. Each user signs in with their own Mesh role. Actions such as submitting expenses are not available yet.

Here's what it really costs: published rates where a vendor lists them, aggregated quote data where they don't, plus a path to your own number.
Spend management for very small teams; the pricing page lists no features beyond the plan description.
Per user per month; described as tools to control and scale spend management for global growth. No feature list is published.
Quote only; described as complete spend and travel control for complex needs.
Needed to pay employee reimbursements through Mesh; the help center says they are not in the base subscription.
Pays approved bills by US ACH or Israeli Masav; early access and separate from bill processing.
Mesh adds a mark-up on multi-currency card transactions on top of Visa's rate, per its global FAQ.
SoFi Bank charges no program fees except currency conversion, per the cardholder agreement.
Default rate in the Terms of Use; paid only when card spend exceeds $50,000 in every month counted and forfeited on termination.
The US card is the MeshPay Visa Commercial Reloadable Prepaid Card issued by SoFi Bank, N.A. (checked 27 September 2026). The help center says ACH deposits take 2 to 3 business days, wires arrive same or next business day, and every deposit gets a compliance review first (updated 8 May 2026). Some customers get Capital Advance terms, with examples of end of month plus 5 or plus 15 days. Ask which you get and model month-end cash before you sign.
The Terms of Use set a default 1 percent cashback, payable only when card spend exceeds $50,000 in the month it accrued, the month it is payable and every month between. It settles no earlier than 90 days after month end, only to the card account. Cashback not yet paid is forfeited on termination. Read the Order Form, which can override the default.
The help center says the Reimbursement and Payout modules are add-ons outside the base subscription (updated 17 July 2025). AP payments are a separate module, the AP page offers early access, and bills can be paid only by US ACH or Israeli Masav in USD or ILS (updated 24 August 2026). ERP vendor sync for AP covers NetSuite and Priority only. Price every module before comparing against Ramp or Brex.
The Mesh MCP server launched 21 July 2026 with query and analysis tools only. Submitting expenses, uploading receipts, requesting cards and approvals are listed as coming soon with no dates (help center, checked 27 September 2026). The vendor says Mesh is in Claude's connector directory, but Audit Friendly did not find it on the public claude.com connectors page that day.
Mesh Connect, a crypto payments company at meshpay.com, announced a $75 million Series C at a $1 billion valuation on 27 January 2026. That is a different company. Mesh Payments' last reported equity round was $60 million in September 2022 (CTech), and no later round or acquisition was found as of 27 September 2026. Mesh Payments publishes no financials, so ask for current financials if balance risk matters to you.
Mesh's global FAQ says the rate is the ECB reference rate plus Visa's mark-up plus a small Mesh mark-up for multi-currency transactions, with no percentage published (checked 27 September 2026). The help center also warns that a foreign transaction fee may apply depending on card configuration. Local-currency cards avoid conversion but need a funded local balance. Get the mark-up in the Order Form.
Scored on what an outside agent can actually reach: the documented API, how it authenticates, and whether the vendor ships an MCP server.
In the product, Mesh uses OCR it calls Intelligent Document Recognition to read receipts and invoices in several languages and suggest spend categories and custom fields (help center, updated 5 December 2025). Mia, an assistant on WhatsApp and Slack, takes receipts, submits expenses, checks card balances, requests cards and surfaces pending approvals. In AP, a line assistant recodes bill lines from a plain-language prompt, but it cannot change the header, invent coding values or submit the bill. Mesh announced an Orchestration Layer on 5 May 2026 that it says matches calendar, email and card data and codes transactions with no one touching them; that is a vendor claim with no independent account yet.
Exists: yes. Mesh hosts its own MCP server at https://api.meshpayments.com/mcp, announced on its blog on 21 July 2026. On 27 September 2026 the endpoint answered 401 with OAuth protected-resource metadata and a dynamic client registration endpoint, which is what an MCP client expects. No Mesh entry appears in the official MCP registry, the Mesh GitHub organization has no public repositories, and no community Mesh Payments MCP was found.
Scope: read only. The help center lists viewing and analyzing expenses, spend categories and custom fields; querying transactions by card, merchant or date; and viewing virtual cards, contacts and companies. Submitting expenses, uploading receipts, requesting virtual cards and approval workflows are on a coming soon list with no dates. Every call runs under the signed-in user's Mesh role.
Turnkey or admin-configured: mostly turnkey. The help center says Mesh is in Claude's connector directory; Audit Friendly did not find it on the public claude.com connectors page on 27 September 2026, so expect to add it as a custom connector by URL, which on business plans is usually an admin step. Any Mesh user can then sign in with their own credentials. Separately, a REST API (HMAC or OAuth client credentials) can issue, limit, suspend and cancel virtual cards and read authorizations, settlements and balances, with webhooks; its developer portal asks for a password, and the CLI the homepage mentions has no public docs.
Who wins for whom: A company that wants each SaaS vendor on its own locked card under per-workflow separation of duties: Mesh Payments. A team that needs FedRAMP Moderate, an audit log and merchant-level blocks at the swipe: Ramp. A controller who wants an agent to rank violations by risk against uploaded SOPs: Brex.
One locked card per vendor. Mesh issues a card per SaaS vendor, locked to that merchant with per-card limits and alerts, under per-workflow separation of duties, a read-only configuration audit trail and stated SOC 1 and SOC 2 Type II reports.
Where it loses: Cards are prefunded Visa prepaid cards whose ACH loads take 2 to 3 business days plus a compliance review, and no 1099 filing or 2-way and 3-way matching was found.

Blocks spend before it happens. Card controls block spend by merchant, category and amount before it happens, Plus adds auto-locking on late receipts, audit log and custom roles, and the trust center lists SOC 1 Type 2, SOC 2 Type 2 and FedRAMP Moderate.
Where it loses: NerdWallet lists a requirement of at least $25,000 in a US business bank account to qualify, and the late-receipt auto-lock, audit log and custom roles all need Plus, whose platform fee is unpublished.

Policy agents audit card spend. Per Brex, the audit agent checks every expense against uploaded policy and SOPs and ranks violations by risk; Premium adds multiple expense policies and dynamic approval chains, and Smart Card offers merchant card controls.
Where it loses: The trust page lists SOC 1 Type II but the enterprise page says SOC 1 Type I, and the Card Program Terms were revised on 7 April 2026, the day Capital One's purchase closed.

Who wins for whom: A company on Priority or Unanet that wants card spend synced per transaction or in bulk: Mesh Payments. A NetSuite shop on Plus that wants line-level custom segments, accruals and amortization templates synced: Ramp. A company closing card spend into Workday Financials, Oracle Fusion or Dynamics 365 F&O: Brex.
NetSuite segments, per-transaction sync. Native integrations cover NetSuite with custom records, segments and subsidiaries, plus Xero, Business Central, Sage Intacct, QuickBooks Online, Priority and Unanet, with sync triggered per transaction or in bulk and a file export for other ERPs.
Where it loses: The Workday and Oracle Cloud integration links redirect to those vendors' own sites, AP vendor sync covers only NetSuite and Priority, and NetSuite connects through Mesh support.

Line-level NetSuite sync on Plus. On Plus, NetSuite syncs custom segments at line level, two-way vendors, accruals as journal entries and amortization templates, while QuickBooks Online and Xero sync on Free among 40+ accounting integrations.
Where it loses: No SAP ERP connector is listed, native multi-entity covers only NetSuite and Sage Intacct, and Workday and Oracle Fusion Cloud sync only on Enterprise.

Pre-coded spend exports to NetSuite. Native connectors cover NetSuite, Sage Intacct, QuickBooks Online, Xero, Business Central, Dynamics 365 F&O, Oracle Fusion and Workday Financials; NetSuite imports classes, departments, locations and custom fields, with intercompany journal entries and amortization.
Where it loses: Bill sync covers only QuickBooks Online, NetSuite, Xero and Sage Intacct, and Essentials stops at two entities, so multi-entity close needs Premium at $12 per active user a month.

Approved expenses for Deel workers now flow into Deel as payroll adjustments across EOR, contractor, PEO, Global Payroll and US Payroll models.
Mesh opened an MCP server at api.meshpayments.com/mcp for Claude, ChatGPT and Gemini. It queries spend data; submitting, receipts, card requests and approvals are listed as coming soon.
Mesh announced an AI layer that it says reads calendars, email, HR records and card feeds, pre-integrated with Navan, Spotnana, CTM Lightning and Altour Connect.
Mesh said Adyen will power its local-currency card issuing and scale in the UK and Europe, alongside customers' existing bank cards.
Mesh announced a collaboration with Peoples Trust Company to issue cards and bring its T&E platform to Canadian companies.
Mesh and Indian spend management firm Zaggle announced a partnership: Indian multinationals get Mesh cards abroad, and Mesh clients' India centres get Zaggle products.
Mesh publishes Pro at no cost for up to 3 users, Premium at $13 per user a month and a custom Enterprise tier (checked 27 September 2026). If all 150 staff are Premium users, list price is about $23,400 a year (Audit Friendly estimate).
Add the Reimbursement and Payout modules and AP payments if you need them; none has a published price. If card spend stays above $50,000 every month, the default 1 percent cashback would return more than $6,000 a year (Audit Friendly estimate), paid 90 or more days after each month ends.
The Terms of Use run until either side ends them. You can close the account by an email from an Admin; Mesh can terminate on notice or for risk. Fees set in the Order Form are non-cancellable and non-refundable, and a cancelled subscription runs to the end of its term with no refund.
After termination Mesh lets you download your data for up to 180 days in a format it chooses, and if the card provider also ends its agreement you must withdraw any card balance within 30 days (Terms of Use, checked 27 September 2026). Unpaid cashback is forfeited. Mesh's liability is capped at the greater of $100,000 or 12 months of fees. Export transactions, receipts and the configuration audit trail to CSV or Excel before you give notice.
Mesh's own case study says MRI had its two largest units live in 7 weeks, including NetSuite and Workday, and the whole company within 3 months (vendor-published). Expect KYB documents, a funding account and a first deposit before cards issue.
Xero and Business Central have self-serve connection steps; for NetSuite and others the help center says to email support, and the implementation team configures NetSuite PO-to-Card. On your side, plan for the controller, treasury, an HRIS or SSO admin and your travel manager.
Partly. Mesh hosts an MCP server at https://api.meshpayments.com/mcp with OAuth sign-in, launched 21 July 2026. It can query expenses, transactions, cards, categories and custom fields under your Mesh role. It cannot submit expenses, upload receipts, request cards or approve anything yet; those are listed as coming soon.
The vendor says Mesh is listed in Claude's connector directory; if it is not in yours, add it as a custom connector by URL. For card issuing, the REST API can create, limit, suspend and cancel virtual cards, but its developer portal requires a login.
