Yearli is Greatland's online filing service for W-2, 1099 and 1095 forms: it e-files with the IRS, SSA and state agencies and mails recipient copies, for small businesses, accounting firms and high-volume payers, from $6.49 a form on a free Core plan (published).
Independently scored, one dimension at a time. Every dimension is sourced, and we say whether a claim is published, reported, or estimated.
The plans page publishes the annual fees and the detailed pricing page lists every per-form tier up to 50,001 forms, including peak-day prices, a la carte Premier rates and prior-year rates (last modified 2 October 2026 per the site map). Gaps remain: correction fees and the $1.00 Core TIN match sit on other pages, Custom is a quote, and the forms page showed stale peak dates on 11 October 2026.
Signup is self-serve with a free Core account and no Transmitter Control Code to obtain (home page, checked 10 October 2026). Imports cover an Excel template, IRS and SSA file formats and direct pulls from QuickBooks Online, Xero, Zoho Books and FreshBooks, and the vendor says the federal e-file step takes less than 15 minutes (vendor claim). The catch is lead time: Yearli recommends checkout 48 hours before a deadline, and no sandbox or trial filing is described.
Core includes chat, email and a help center; Performance and Premier add phone support at no extra cost (plan pages, checked 11 October 2026). Greatland says more than 125 reporting specialists with an average tenure above 10.5 years staff the service and that support staff triples in peak season. Yearli's own comparison page of 19 August 2026 cites a Shopper Approved score of 4.8 out of 5 from 81,681 reviews; the split between short surveys and written reviews was last read on 10 October 2026, and support hours are unpublished.
The plan matrix lists 41 form types: 16 on Core, 39 on Performance and 41 on Premier, spanning W-2, the 1099 series, 1098, 5498, 94x, 1095-B, 1095-C and 1042-S (forms page, checked 10 October 2026). Yearli says it e-files directly with every state that requires W-2 or 1099 reporting and supports state reconciliation forms. It lists no Form 1099-DA and no W-9 or W-8 collection, offers Canada and Puerto Rico forms only on Custom plans, and keeps prior-year filing on Premier.
The public price grid runs to 50,001 forms and above on Premier, and the Custom page targets filers above 10,000 forms with an employer portal, print services and SFTP intake (checked 10 October 2026). Vendor Q&A answers from January 2024 say every plan supports unlimited payers and has no cap on concurrent users. What breaks first is control: teams and permissions need the $799 Premier plan, and TIN matching is a batch report that takes one to three business days.
The security page states SOC 2 certification against the security and confidentiality criteria but gives no report type or audit period; reports sit in a Vanta trust center (checked 10 October 2026). No SOC 1 report is mentioned. Accounts use multi-factor authentication, while role-based access, teams and SSO at $499 a year exist only on Premier. The site terms cap Greatland's liability at the greater of $50 or three months of fees, and the only published guarantee is the recipient postmark guarantee.
The integrations directory lists 41 software packages and file formats; the home page says 40+ (checked 10 October 2026). Direct imports are documented for QuickBooks Online, Xero, Zoho Books and FreshBooks, and Workday connects by API on Premier, while NetSuite uses a template file and SAP a W-2 conversion tool. Data flows one way into Yearli, and there is no public API or webhook.
No MCP server, no public API documentation and no AI features in the filing product were found on 11 October 2026; the privacy policy says only that the site may use an AI chatbot for customer support. The API page for software partners, last modified 7 October 2026, describes potential capabilities and routes to a contact form. An agent can help only outside the product, by preparing import files.

Yearli sells a done-for-you filing service. On the Core and Performance plans one per-form price covers the federal e-file, direct state filing where a state requires it, a printed and mailed recipient copy and an online copy. Greatland, an employee-owned forms company founded in 1974, launched it in September 2014 (reported by CPA Practice Advisor). The buyer is paying for the back office: state reconciliation forms, a postmark guarantee on deadline day and phone support on the paid plans.
The catch is price and openness. Core costs $6.49 a form (published, 2026 filing year) and rises to $7.79 on 29 January to 1 February and 1 to 2 March. Tax1099 and TaxBandits publish federal e-file from $2.99 and $2.75 a form with mail and direct state filing as add-ons, so the gap narrows once those are added (Tax1099 with both add-ons comes to $7.93 a form on its published prices, above Core) and stays wide for a payer that only needs the e-file. E-file without mail, team roles, SSO and prior-year filing all sit on the $799 a year Premier plan. There is no public API, no MCP server and no W-9 collection.
Before signing up, get these answers in writing. First, which season the posted grid covers: it is labeled for the 2026 filing year, and its peak dates of 29 January to 1 February fit the 2027 calendar, when 31 January falls on a Sunday. Second, the SOC 2 report type and period, which the public site leaves out. Third, the correction fees for the chosen plan, which are missing from the pricing page. Fourth, for Custom or partner work, the integration method, the SFTP setup and who prepares the data.
Jobs, mapped to how finance teams actually buy.
Create a free Core account, key in or import the payees and check out. Yearli e-files with the IRS, files with the state where required and mails each recipient a copy. No Transmitter Control Code is needed, which matters as the IRS moves filers to IRIS for tax year 2026.
Every plan handles unlimited payers, per a vendor Q&A answer from January 2024, and Performance adds phone support, unlimited TIN matching and volume tiers from 51 forms. A firm that wants each preparer restricted to certain clients needs Premier at $799 a year for teams and permissions.
TIN matching costs $1.00 a TIN on Core and is unlimited on Performance and Premier. It is a batch check that returns a report in one to three business days, and a help article read on 10 October 2026 said it covers 1099 forms only. Yearli's own September 2026 notice says IRIS validates names and TINs at submission, so run the check well before filing.
Premier connects to Workday through a registered API client, imports by EIN and files W-2 and 1095-C forms with the SSA, IRS and states. Pricing can be all-in or a la carte: $0.38 for the federal e-file, $0.56 for state and $1.69 for print and mail. Above about 10,000 forms Greatland steers buyers to a Custom plan.
Yearli says it e-files directly with every state that requires W-2 or 1099 reporting, in each state's format, and completes state reconciliation forms in the same checkout. State filing is inside the Core and Performance per-form price. The vendor asks filers to check out 48 hours before the deadline.
Corrections start from the form filing history and cover TIN, amount and form-type errors. Yearli e-files the correction and can resend the recipient copy for $1.70. The original must have been filed through Yearli.
Forget the 40-row feature grid. Pick a finance workflow and see how this tool and its closest peers actually do it, with our verdict on who wins for whom.
Here's what it really costs: published rates where a vendor lists them, aggregated quote data where they don't, plus a path to your own number.
No subscription. W-2, W-2c, six common 1099 forms (NEC, MISC, INT, DIV, R and S) and 94x forms, with federal e-file, state filing where applicable, a mailed recipient copy and online retrieval in the per-form price. Chat and email support; TIN matching is $1.00 per TIN.
Adds 1095-B and 1095-C, 1098 forms, the wider 1099 and 5498 library, phone support, unlimited TIN matching and volume tiers: $6.99 from 1 form, $5.20 from 51, $4.31 from 101, $3.85 from 251, $3.24 from 501 and $2.51 from 1,001.
Built for 5,000 or more forms. Adds a la carte filing, multi-user licenses, teams and permissions, advanced reporting, local printing, 1042 and 1042-S and prior-year filing. All-in forms are $2.63 from 1 form, $2.50 from 2,501, $2.31 from 5,001, $2.14 from 10,001 and $1.97 from 50,001.

Applies 29 January to 1 February and 1 to 2 March in the posted 2026 filing-year grid. Premier all-in forms rise to $2.97 down to $2.26, and Premier print and mail to $2.03 down to $1.73.
Federal e-file of quarterly and annual payroll returns on Core and Performance. Premier charges a flat $4.00 for these forms.
Federal e-file alone: $0.38 for 1 to 2,500 forms, $0.35 to 5,000, $0.30 to 10,000, $0.26 to 50,000 and $0.19 above that.
State e-file alone: $0.56 for 1 to 2,500 forms, $0.52 to 5,000, $0.44 to 10,000, $0.37 to 50,000 and $0.34 above that.
Print and mail alone: $1.69 for 1 to 2,500 forms, $1.63 to 5,000, $1.57 to 10,000, $1.51 to 50,000 and $1.44 above that. Peak-day rates run from $2.03 down to $1.73.
Federal e-file is $8.00 for 1 to 250 forms, $6.00 to 500, $4.00 to 2,500, $2.00 to 5,000 and $1.50 above that. Recipient print and mail is $1.86 down to $1.59, or $2.23 down to $1.91 on peak days.
Batch check of names and TINs against IRS records, with a report in one to three business days. Unlimited at no extra cost on Performance and Premier.
SSO through Okta or Microsoft Azure Active Directory, sold as an add-on to Premier.
The detailed pricing page lists peak prices for 29 January to 1 February and 1 to 2 March: Core rises from $6.49 to $7.79 a form and the first Performance tier from $6.99 to $8.39 (published for the 2026 filing year, checked 11 October 2026). Premier all-in forms rise from $2.63 to $2.97. The forms page still listed 30 and 31 January, 29 February and 1 March on the same day, a leap-year set of dates last valid in 2024. TaxBandits advertises no surge fee. File a week early or budget for the higher rate.
The Core and Performance price is a bundle: federal e-file, state filing and a mailed recipient copy with online retrieval. Only Premier offers a la carte filing, at $0.38 a form for the federal e-file under 2,501 forms, after a $799 annual subscription (published, checked 10 October 2026). A vendor Q&A answer from June 2023 confirms that Core and Performance filings include print and mail. A payer that delivers copies through its own portal pays for mail it does not use until volume justifies Premier. Audit Friendly estimate: e-file only for 1,000 forms costs about $1,179 on Premier.
A vendor Q&A answer dated 5 November 2024 priced a 1099 correction on Core or Performance at $1.43 for the federal e-file plus $1.70 to resend the recipient copy, or $2.04 on peak days; Premier was $0.32 and $1.46. The current pricing page lists no correction fees, so confirm them before the season. Yearli corrects only forms that were first filed through Yearli, per the same answer. A January 2023 answer adds that a submitted form cannot be recalled.
Yearli's API page, last modified 7 October 2026 per the site map, describes potential capabilities for software partners and says they vary by use case. Its FAQ says integration is offered to qualified partners, and the next step is a form that promises a reply within 24 hours. No endpoint reference, sandbox or pricing is public. Several entries in the 41-item integrations directory are file imports: NetSuite uses a custom template and SAP a W-2 conversion tool. The Workday API connection is documented for Premier accounts.
The plan matrix puts multi-user licenses, user permissions and teams, advanced reporting, local printing and prior-year filing on Premier and Custom only (checked 10 October 2026). SSO through Okta or Microsoft Azure Active Directory is a further $499 a year. Performance at $129 covers unlimited payers and unlimited TIN matching, yet an accounting firm that wants role-based access for its staff needs Premier, per a vendor Q&A answer from June 2024. Tax1099 puts team creation on a $249 plan and TaxBandits allows 2 team members on its free plan.
Shopper Approved showed 4.8 out of 5 from 81,704 ratings on 10 October 2026 (reported). Its review data at that date labeled 81,584 of them as initial surveys and 119 as full surveys, and 118 of the 119 written reviews listed dated from 2015; treat that split as a point-in-time reading and check the live page. Yearli's own comparison pages, published in August and September 2026, rank Yearli first in each list; one of them cites 81,681 Shopper Approved reviews and a Capterra score of 3.9 out of 5 from 8 reviews. Ask for two reference customers of similar size and form mix.
Scored on what an outside agent can actually reach: the documented API, how it authenticates, and whether the vendor ships an MCP server.
Exists: No. Yearli has no first-party MCP server. On 11 October 2026 the official MCP registry returned no entry for Yearli or Greatland, a GitHub search for a Yearli MCP repository returned nothing, and the GitHub organizations named Yearli and Greatland belong to unrelated owners. No MCP server is mentioned on Yearli's API, integrations, security or plan pages.
Scope: There is nothing for an agent to call. Yearli's API page for software partners, last modified 7 October 2026 per the site map, lists filing, state reporting, recipient delivery, TIN matching and status monitoring as potential capabilities and says they vary by use case. Its FAQ says integration is offered to qualified partners, and every path ends in a contact form. No endpoint reference, authentication guide, sandbox or rate limit is public.
Turnkey: No. The connection points that exist run one way, into Yearli: account-level imports from QuickBooks Online, Xero, Zoho Books and FreshBooks, a Workday API connection on Premier, and file uploads in Excel, IRS Publication 1220 and SSA formats. Custom accounts can send files by SFTP after a request form. A person signs in with multi-factor authentication, reviews the forms and pays at checkout.
In-product AI: none is described on the plan, pricing, security or API pages checked on 11 October 2026; the privacy policy says the site may use an AI chatbot for customer support, with a human agent on request. Validation is rule based: Yearli flags entry errors before checkout and returns TIN matching as an IRS-sourced report in one to three business days.
Yearli's API page invites payroll, accounting and SaaS providers to discuss embedding its filing services; the site map shows it was last modified on 7 October 2026. No public documentation accompanies it.
The per-form grid, labeled for the 2026 filing year, lists Core at $6.49 and peak prices on 29 January to 1 February and 1 to 2 March; the site map shows a last-modified date of 2 October 2026.
Yearli told Core, Performance and Premier customers that returns filed in 2027 will be processed through IRIS, with name and TIN validation at submission and new Rejected and Corrections Needed statuses.
The housing agency software vendor showed how its 1099-NEC and 1099-MISC CSV exports upload to Yearli through the Kanso Software / HDS import option.
Yearli published an explainer on the IRS change that lets employers and insurers furnish Forms 1095-B and 1095-C on request, and the compliance steps that come with it.
The Core plan has no subscription and charges $6.49 for each W-2 or 1099 (published for the 2026 filing year, checked 10 October 2026). That price covers the federal e-file, state filing where a state requires it, a mailed recipient copy and online retrieval. Audit Friendly estimate: 25 forms cost about $162.
Performance is $129 a year plus $6.99 a form, falling to $5.20 at 51 forms, $4.31 at 101, $3.85 at 251, $3.24 at 501 and $2.51 at 1,001. It adds 1095 filing, a larger form library, phone support and unlimited TIN matching. Audit Friendly estimates, assuming the tier price applies to every form: 100 forms cost $649 on either plan, and 250 forms cost about $1,207 on Performance against about $1,623 on Core.
A firm that needs several preparers with separate permissions, e-file without mail or prior-year returns needs Premier at $799 a year, with all-in forms from $2.63 or a la carte e-file at $0.38 a form. Budget for peak pricing in the last days of January and the first days of March, $1.00 per TIN match on Core and correction fees.
Plans are billed annually and filing fees are paid at checkout (published). Core has no subscription. Renewal, cancellation and refund terms for Performance and Premier are absent from the public site, so ask for them in writing. A help article read on 10 October 2026 said filing fees can be paid by card or with a prepaid filing code bought from sales, with any unused code balance refunded in early June; confirm that with sales before prepaying.
Submitted forms are final. A vendor Q&A answer from January 2023 says a transmission cannot be altered or stopped once submitted, and corrections can be filed only for forms first filed through Yearli. The site terms apply Michigan law and cap Greatland's liability at the greater of $50 or the fees paid in the prior three months.
Getting records out is manual. Payer copies can be downloaded or printed after submission, and Premier adds reports and a data export. How long filed forms stay in an account is unpublished; the privacy policy lists a seven-year retention period for personal information, and Premier files prior-year W-2 and most 1099 forms back three years.
Most filers can set it up themselves in a day (Audit Friendly estimate). The published steps are: pick a plan, create an account with multi-factor authentication, enter or import the data, review the validation flags, check out and let Yearli file. The vendor says the federal e-file step takes less than 15 minutes (vendor claim).
Plan for lead time around the deadline. Yearli recommends checking out 48 hours before a state deadline, TIN matching reports take one to three business days, and an accepted or rejected status typically arrives in 2 to 10 days, per a vendor Q&A answer from April 2023.
Premier needs an admin to set up teams and roles, plus IT for the optional SSO or for registering the Workday API client. Custom plans, aimed at filers above 10,000 forms, are scoped with Greatland's account managers, who accept data by SFTP and offer data preparation services; no timeline is published for those.
No. On 10 October 2026 Yearli had no MCP server and no public API documentation. Its API page invites software partners to describe a project through a contact form, and its FAQ says integration is offered to qualified partners.
An agent can still do the preparation work outside the product. Claude can map an AP or payroll export to the Yearli Excel template or the IRS Publication 1220 layout, flag missing TINs and reconcile totals. A person then uploads the file, reviews the forms and pays at checkout.
Buyers who want an agent to create and submit filings should look at Tax1099, which documents a hosted MCP server with submit tools for Forms 1099-NEC and 1099-MISC, or at TaxBandits, whose MCP documentation currently connects to a test host.
